Not even the other admin is effected when users discuss LGBTQ , I've never seen her ever claim to be bothered by it and she's never told anyone to "keep it off main" so this is solely Arkham who feels this way about users discussing queer topics. It's not a unanimous agreement in the slightest, it's just Arkham being triggered by LGBTQ+ "woke craziness"

You have been here two weeks yhat is not enough time to understand conflict that had been spread across many months. No one is expecting her to bend yo their wants but rather for her to listen and take advice or constructive criticism and not be rude about it
Arkham uses strong language because main was created for general, appropriate chat. Not everyone on main is LGBTQ+, so he decided to create a new room for those who align themselves that way. Same reason noone wants politics on main, it is a very controversial subject that deserves its own room.

Im sorry can you explain to me how being lgbtq is a controversial subject that should be excluded from the main chat? What are you talking about. A majority of kidschat users are a part of the lgbtq in some way or another, suggesting that them talking about it is controversial or in any way inappropriate for main chat is just stupid. Trying to defend this is wild
It is controversial in the fact that not everyone is LGBTQ+ or agrees with it. Same thing with politics, not all people think the same. That’s okay. That’s why Arkham created a room for like-minded people, so there would be no misunderstandings/quarrels between people in the LGBTQ+ and those not in it.
There is a chance this thread will either be deleted or closed eventually, so arguing about this is pointless to be honest.
Understood. The reason I created this thread is to (1) take it off main (2) let those who have disagreements with Luminous and Arkham have a say in an independent thread.

There is a rule stating no homophobia because the only thing controversial about it is the people hating on others for what they are which isn’t allowed. Arkham is just anti lgbtq which is harmful to many many people who are in the chat and who may join
That’s why he has created a room for people that align themselves with that mentality. Just to clarify, homophobia is not the same as feeling uncomfortable around that kind of conversation. Do you think it appropriate to have username “gomorrha” when people with religious convictions are in the chat? For those who need people who agree with them and think like them, the LGBTQ+ room has been made.

You do realize that being homophobic/transphobic to users is kickable, right? Arkham clearly stated that HE didn't want 'woke craziness' in main chat. The SOLE REASON he created the room was NOT to create a safe space for queer folk but to REMOVE THEM FROM MAIN

So I don't understand why the room needs to exist to avoid quarrels when users get kicked immediately for trying to say transphobic/homophobic things it's not tolerated in main chat so I don't see how the rainbow room prevents that, I personally don't think queer folk need to run to the rainbow room whenever someone's starting a quarrel because the mods don't tolerate it in the first place. My point is , Arkham's sole reason for creating the rainbow room was to keep "woke craziness" out of main, not to create a safe space for queer folk.
Casual lgbtq conversations have always been allowed in main chat, I can’t speak for Arkham on his views, but we all have our opinions when it comes to these topics. Some may not like it, and some may love it.

He created the rainbow room as a safe space for lgbtq people to talk freely in without being judged and/or bullied by homophobes. This room released when room creation became a feature in 2019, meaning none of this was thought of as woke at the time. (Since that culture wasn’t a thing then, or was publicly recognized) I can’t speak for the owner on his opinions otherwise. Although homophobes get kicked, lgbtq users may not want to see homophobic messages, and can get triggered by said messages. On teen chat, the owner has created Gay teen chat, and lesbian teen chat for the same purpose, as well as user-created custom side rooms for girls and trans girls only. Does it mean the room or its owner are sexist? Not at all! They want a comfortable space without guys there annoying them. This is all based on the preference of the users.
Anyway, the owner’s pms and/or email ([email protected]) is open for any complaints about any admins, and how they run the site or do their job. Thank you!
